Sri Lalitha Devi Temple Land Acquisition

A Sacred Home for Sri Lalitha Devi

From the day of the current temple inauguration in Mar 2024, our community has gathered, prayed, and celebrated together with the blessings of Sri Lalitha Devi. But the vision has always been larger: a permanent temple, built on land we own, that will serve our children, grandchildren, and generations of devotees to come.

That vision is now within reach — and it happens in stages.

Where We Are

Through the Dharmavardhini Program, a hundred plus families have already come forward to support our cause for temple land acquisition, each contributing $2,501 (or more) toward our goal of building a lasting spiritual home, raising $300,000+ so far.

The Next Milestone: An Additional $1 Million

To carry this vision to completion, we are launching a focused effort to raise an additional $1 million, anchored by a rare and powerful Vedic event: the first ever Shata Chandi Sahita Maha Rudram in Arizona, to be held October 14–18, 2026 at our current temple premises. This five-day yagnam performed by over 100 Vedic scholars is both a profound spiritual undertaking and the centerpiece of this fundraising milestone.

How You Can Be Part of This

With our $1 million goal in sight, the Shata Chandi Sahita Maha Rudram is where we need the most support right now. This is the milestone campaign that will carry us across the finish line

A Grand Confluence of Lalitha and Shiva Shakti — The Ultimate Vedic Yagnam for raising funds for Land Acquisition

Our Sacred Mission: Land for Sri Lalitha Temple

Sri Lalitha Temple stands at a pivotal moment in its journey. We are working to acquire permanent land for our temple — a sacred space where future generations can worship, learn, and celebrate our timeless traditions. This endeavor requires $1 million in community support, and we are calling upon devoted families like yours to help make this vision a reality.

About This Sacred Event

The first ever event in Arizona, the Shata Chandi Sahita Maha Rudram is both a spiritual invocation for divine blessings and a sacred fundraising vehicle to secure land for the temple. Every dollar raised through this yagnam goes directly to our land acquisition fund.

Shata Chandi Sahita Maha Rudram is one of the most powerful and transformative Vedic rituals ever performed — a rare confluence of two supreme divine energies: Lord Rudra (the fierce form of Lord Shiva) and Goddess Chandi (the invincible form of Devi Durga/Parashakti).

Maha Rudram

Sri Rudram, also known as Rudra Prasna or Satha Rudriyam, is embedded within the Yajurveda and is hailed as one of the most substantial Vedic hymns dedicated to Lord Shiva’s Rudra aspect.

Maha Rudram consists of chanting Sri Rudram 1,331 times — performed by 11 groups (ganas) of 11 priests each, with each priest chanting 11 times. This is further elevated to Ati Rudram (11 Maha Rudrams = 14,641 chants). The Vedas declare: “One who chants Sri Rudram is freed of all sins; he is purified as if by Agni; Sri Rudram enables crossing of the ocean of Samsara.”

Shata Chandi

Chandi Homa is performed with the chanting of all 700 verses of the Sri Devi Mahatmyam (Durga Saptashati) from the Markandeya Purana, spread across 13 chapters. It recounts the divine victories of Devi over the demonic forces of Mahishasura, Shumbha-Nishumbha, and Madhu-Kaitabha.

When the Japa of Chandi mantras is done one hundred times, it is known as Shata Chandi — a monumental undertaking requiring numerous Vedic scholars chanting over several days, with sacred oblations (ahutis) offered into the Homa Kundam.

The Divine Union

Lord Rudra and Goddess Chandi together represent the Shiva-Shakti Tattva — the primordial masculine and feminine energies that create, sustain, and transform the universe. Their combined worship in this grand yagnam is believed to:

  • Eradicate evil and dispel darkness
  • Remove obstacles and negative energies
  • Bestow health, longevity, and prosperity
  • Grant spiritual upliftment and moksha
  • Ensure protection for families and communities
  • Bring universal peace and wellbeing

Even the thought of constructing a Temple is adequate for demolishing one’s sins. Contributing towards the construction of a temple for the mother of all mothers — Goddess Sri Lalitha Devi — will remove all our sins and protect our family and children for generations.

Sri Lalitha Temple is embarking on a beautiful journey to build a new temple for Lalitha Devi — a sanctuary for devotion, culture, and community service. As our congregation grows, this new temple will allow us to better serve our community, preserving and celebrating the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Sanatana Dharma.

Building a temple is a sacred journey, and we cannot do it without the support of our community. It is such a noble endeavor and huge undertaking — we request all devotees to come forward and make this journey a success.
